What to do if you're addicted?

PostPosted by Niki A » Sat Aug 08, 2009 3:28 pm

All right, i've got a problem.
I've watched it like... lots of times: twice a day for 3 months already.
Is it normal?
"Something's got to be done! We can't go on like this!" Or can we?
:high:
P.S. Sorry if the similar topic already exists somewhere.
This is all a dreadful mistake.

find your neutral space? I don't really see the problem, unless you're missing out work and about to get fired. In that case maybe we should stage an intervention.

Really? I suppose ask yourself why you are watching it so many times.

I watch it about once a year. I get more out of it that way.

I have no reason to do this - i already know why.
It's just such a powerful antidepressant, and the lifestyle is charming. I've always been a decadent type. :)

You mean everytime you watch it you get something new out of it? For instance?

I don't know how many times I've seen it, but I have never gone through a period where I watched it loads of times in quick succession like some of you.

In recent years, I have seen it in chunks---to answer a query for the forum perhaps---and sometimes watch more than I intended (it has that effect!) but hardly watched the film in its entirety.

Now, I probably see it once a year.

The reason?

Try this analogy: I love chocolate eclairs --- but I prefer them when I eat them occassionally, not gorge on five or six in a day.

You can have too much of a good thing.

I first saw the 'W&I' on its release in the UK in '88 (before it was brought out on video), and it was a thrill to leaf through 'Time Out' magazine every week in the hope that it would be in the listings somewhere---when more often than not, it wasn't---and then see that it was... and rush off to see it in, I dunno, Greenwich!

When you view it occassionally, I think you cherish it more.

I can't think of anything specific now, but I noticed that when I viewed it occasionally (and I thought I had seen everything), I would watch it another time and pick up on a nuance I had missed before.

That's is very indulgent, why don't you learn the whole script, if i knew someone who could recite the whole of whitnail i would be in awe. Truly is a highly quotable film. It is on the face of it a dark depressing film, but the humour, wit, era, each characters ideologies and references to shakespeare are completely uplifting, i agree a great antidepressant.
This doll is extremely dangerous. It has voodoo qualities.
