Nice car, independent from any socio-anatomical references. I wish one could get a better sense of the engine sound. What are the engine specs?

(I don't drive, don't own a car, but yet I have an interest in such things.)

I have no problem with people who don't like cars but I do, and not for fanny magnet reasons as I am happily married. I like (certain) cars for their style, looks and engineering and it also means I can get from Bristol to London in a little over an hour and in great comfort if the traffic is light and I keep an eye out for the cameras etc. And EVERY single time I up to the Big Smoke I take great pleasure in saying to myself, "we're approaching London" and find some fucker to overtake.
I like many types, mostly old, but this Jag imho has some style and being modern is also reliable. H.E. it is 4 litres plus supercharger. The supercharger is why you would be more likely to hear a whine rather than a roar from the engine. That and the fact it has a toned down exhaust, unlike those little runabouts young chaps have with those silly exhausts on the back. Now those chaps possibly do have willy problems.
Free to those who can afford it but very expensive to those who can't, I would say.

No it's not jealousy. I admit that I would like to experience driving super cars around a track or on deserted roads but I would never drive a big flash car day to day. I would also never wear flashy expensive clothes or own an iphone.

Come on its not flash it is a common or garden xkr. It is an understated GT not some flash ferrari or somesuch. Luckily I don't do labels or watches or stuff like that so I too, feel I can meet my maker with a clear conscience. I'm not quaking in my boots that he's gonna say, "oi were you that wanker with the xkr? wanker"

Anyone else think that Bohemianism is childish? ie that it can only exist in opposition to something other and is essentially negative? Surely just take the best of everything while you have the chance, cos there won't be another after you're dead.

It's got nothing to do with Bohemianism. It's to do with not being in the midst of a mid-life crisis.

As for taking the best of everything, material possessions will never make a person happy. As soon as you fulfil one desire to own something, you gain another desire for something better. I'm no Buddhist but they are right about a few things.
