Wolf enclosure's been moved!!

PostPosted by anniekey » Wed Aug 11, 2010 3:02 am

The wolf enclosure has been replaced with a load of parrots. Used to see the wolves when I was at school in Camden way before I saw Withnail and I so going back recently was really upset! Just, why the wolves??
These aren't accidents! They're throwing themselves into the road, GLADLY! Throwing themselves into the road to escape all this hideousness! THROW YOURSELF INTO THE ROAD DARLING, YOU HAVEN'T GOT A CHANCE!

it's not politically correct to keep wolves in cages.

Exactly. They belong on the floor as a nice rug or perhaps expertly mounted and the wall.

I do agree wolves shouldn't be in cages...especially as they were next to a park and could see dogs running around...but they still have wolves in Regent's Park anyway so its not like they moved them out of political correctness or whatever. If they're gonna bother having them, they might as well put them somewhere drunk out-of-work actors can talk to them. Parrots will just repeat the whole damn Hamlet soliloquy back to you!

Regent's Park wolves and Dracula (I think)

PostPosted by Tennyson » Tue Aug 17, 2010 10:55 am

Re: Regent's Park wolves. Am I imagining it or does Count Dracula manifest himself as one of these wolves for a time when he invades England? (I'm thinking of the book here, not any of the films.) This fits in with Withnail looking like Count Dracula when he first appears on the staircase guzzling the last of the wine.

It's been ages since I read the book, and all I can really remember is Van Helsing running around shouting about holy wafers, but in the Gary Oldman version, which is fairly close to the book when compared with most versions, I think there's a bit where he's a wolf chasing Lucy round a garden. Also there's a bit with half naked vampire women writhing around in bed.
They found him wandering round Regent's Park with a cheap bottle of sherry...

And like a fool I mixed them and it strangled up my mind, and now people just get uglier and I have no sense of time...

What have half naked vampire women in bed got to do with wolves? Or are you just telling us about your favourite part of the film?
