She claimed to visit this forum ''every day'' in a recent radio interview.

Haven't tried this "quoting" facility before but someone a hundred years younger than me says that using "@" is the sign of an exhibitionist (what, me?) who wants everyone to believe he's constantly on Twitter.

Anyway, it looks like we could do with a new thread ("No I'm not Maisie Robson") but I agree about the price of 'Withnail and the Romantic Imagination' and presumably it'll be cheaper when Amazon get round to listing it. Surely we Forum-ites are numerically large enough to deserve a discount, anyway? What about Crooked asking the King's England Press to offer free postage or something for Forum members? Just a thought ...

Yes, why not? If Shagsack's newspaper has been sent a free copy, you as Supreme Commander of the Forum should get one. Why not get one of your servants to email their publicity department and ask for a "review copy"? I look forward to your review, sir.

PS: I'm sure our dear friend Batesy will help you out if there are any long words ...

PPS: That was a joke, so don't ban me.

Funnily enough I genuinely 'don't read so good'.

I'm sure she mentioned us lot as being her friends on the forum. Wonder who she is...

Wonder if they'll have the book in WHSmith, I have a £15 pound gift voucher card thing for WHSmith.

The chap from the publisher has told me that they will do an offer of £9.60 including postage for genuine forum members.

Sounds a fair deal. Subject to details and whatnot. Though I wonder how one proves genuine forum membership.

I want a free one for my missus (a Lancs hack) but i guess £9.60 is a fair price. Where do we place our orders?

The publisher's postal address is:

King's England Press Ltd
Cambertown House
Commercial Road
Goldthorpe
Rotherham
S63 9JA

Presumably a cheque for the discounted amount sent to that address with a note of your log-in name and your home address (for the parcel) would do the trick. No idea how you'd do it through PayPal though. I tend to regard these electronic methods as the work of the devil (this makes me really popular when buying stuff through eBay!), but if the publishers read this message, perhaps they'll say whether PayPal will work with the Forum members' discount.

As for intellectuals on the Forum, Wrigglesworth, I think they probably just meant me and Batesy, though the ever-mysterious Dave the Woodlouse might just qualify. Who knows, perhaps he's the secret author of 'Withnail and the Romantic Imagination'? He certainly turns up on a good many of these threads ...

I haven't finalised details with the publisher yet. I'll let you all know when something gets sorted.
