sleddale from a distance

was working in the lakes again today, and decided to drive back down the m6 as im sick of the motorway this week, anyhow, it was a clear sharp and bitingly cold day. with a light icing sugar dusting of snow on the tops of the hills. i was in a bit of a rush to get back so didnt make the trip up the side road to wet sleddale, but i snapped these 3 pics from the side of the a6, all from the same spot, just playing with the zoom on the new camera. first at full zoom, then at normal image size and finally as a panoramic. if you know sleddale you will know where to look in the zoomed out shots!

and my work takes me past sleddale quite often. i used to be able to get there every other week virtually, but now i only get up the lakes once a month or so, on the flipside i get to drive over the high peaks of derbyshire and over the pennines to the north east every month.

Brilliant!

I'm off up there meself in a few weeks. If I can take at least one photo that's as impressive as your first I'll be very happy.

The visit ain't happening anymore (well, not for the time being) so I'll be very happy if/when I finally get up there.
