Im so sorry i thought id posted :/

We are still blown away by the experience. The odds were against us, bad planning and a rubbish sat nav app meant the journey from nottingham led us through the centre of stockport at rush hour. What a depressing place?! We hit traffic at every possible point, even midday trying to get to the m1 in nottingham. Half way there we realised we had no airbed pump and were missing a tent pole id taken out to get replaced but argos hadnt replaced yet.

We got there just as dusk was approaching and as soon as we turned onto the lane the butterflies were overwhelming! We semi errected the tent it was pitch black by now, we were on a steep incline, covered in cow pats and getting a bit cold!

We had missed the bbq and it was too dark to go back and get the chairs from the car (car park was full so we parked down the lane) there was such an anazing vibe (yes i know thats a cringey word) around the screen, we quickly bought some beers and found a wall to lean against. To get to the film you had to scale the hill, a stile and a small stream, ah so thats why they said bring a torch! :)

Everyone was so friendly and the film was so much funnier surrounded by 'friends' when they were around the cottage in the film everyone shrieked as the cast walked to the bits where we were sat, it felt very intinate and special.

There wasnt too much heckling and you could feel the love for the film.

The wine was certainly not the finest know to humanity but we managed three bottles between the two of us and a few beers too, everyone hang round after, and Tim, our new idol came out and chatted with people, there was a real party atmosphere and my head hurt a lot the next morning. I woke at 6 and found the tent covered in ice, we also had a camp invasion from some rather surprised looking rams!

Dslr pics to follow, but this is what i have in photobucket tight now (im on my mobile)

Thanks for the pics, though taking into account your calamity, I think you should give that polar expedition a miss

Withnail & I to be shown at Sleddale Hall again this year.

The date will probably be Saturday the 13th of July.

As with last year's show, it will be necessary to subscribe to Picnic Cinema's channel to receive info and, in due course, to buy a ticket. Here's the link although it's too early to subscribe:

http://picniccinema.co.uk/2013/tickets/

No doubt, I'll post updates when I know more.

I will also, shortly, be putting some more photo's of progress at the house under the "progress at Sleddale Hall" thread.

Tickets for Saturday the 13th of July have sold out but a second screening is now proposed for Friday the 12th.

If anyone's interested they should go to the picnic cinema website : http://picniccinema.co.uk/2013/tickets/

Tickets are £36 per person and, yes, I know that isn't cheap and I've seen some of the comments on another thread regarding the price.

Eden Arts who are running the event have to pay a royalty to the copyright holder, license fees (to the Local Authority I think) to stage the event and provide portaloos. Food and entertainment are also included in the cost.

Profits then go to 'Remote' - a scheme run by Eden Arts to stage cinema events in village halls in the Eden District.

Price seems reasonable to me  ... most Concert / event tickets are £40 upwards depending on who or what you go to see ... so taking everything into account .. Movie, camping and food on one of the finest volcanos known to humanity then what more could you ask for and you will be doing your bit for local charity ... ok, I see how £36 might be a stretch that`s if you happen to be an out of work luvvie/hippy/tinker/milkman

Here are some photographs from July's screening of the film.

Wish I could go!
... followed by yet another anecdote about his sensitive crimes in a punt with a chap called Norman, who had red hair and a book of poetry stained with the butter drips from crumpets.
