And we're back....

A place to come and say hello and hang around and converse.

And we're back....

Sorry it took so long. Also sorry that the old colours didn't make it (yet?).

Some things probably aren't working but I will try and sort things out when I can.

Emails to and from @withnailandiforum.com aren't working yet but I'm working on it.

Here's hoping the old colours come back! This look is much too clean and upscale for the Withnail crowd. There's no need for gloves here, and we can totally find the coffee. Nothing's floating up. There's no place to hide the Camberwell Carrot if the bobbies come 'round. The bright white screen is giving me a bastard behind the eyes. Bring back the mingey orange!

It's a real ball ache to get the old colours back but we could go for something completely new. If someone can be bothered to look for a decent phpbb3 theme then I will see about installing it. There are some examples here:

I'm voting for "DirtyBoard2.0"

http://demo.phpbb3styles.net/DirtyBoard2.0

It looks almost exactly like the backgrounds in Ralph Steadman's artwork.

Not exactly sure why anything had to be changed to start with. Care to share?

This forum started 5 years ago when I had just about enough technical knowledge to do it. We were on a shared hosting package for the 5 years that was too expensive for what it was.

When I got the latest bill I decided to try and move to free hosting. It turns out that free hosting is shit so I ended up going for a more expensive but much, much better hosting package. It took me a couple of days to make the change.

The old colour scheme that we had was custom made for me by a friend a long time ago. Unfortunately because he modified the default theme it meant that doing security updates was very problematic and I essentially stopped doing them a while ago. When I decided to move us I also decided to say on top of the security updates which means the old theme had to go.

Your suggestion looks very good and I will install it in the next few days.

Cool! Maybe this forum should do a holiday fund drive to drum up some money to help you with the site. If it's set up so we can use Paypal, I'd be happy to donate some green to the festivities.

As you can see I've installed that new theme. I still haven't sorted out the email situation. I'll get on that when I can but it might be around Christmas when I finally have time. We'll see.

Please post any problems you find in this thread.

I have to admit I like it, the background conjures up memories of some of the interior walls at Crowcrag, was that intentional?

Making Time scoured the Internet and found the perfect theme for us. I just installed it.

I like it!

And I saw a radish tattoo today, thought Uncle Monty would have loved it.
