Bruce gave a fantastically entertaining talk at the Leicester University Literary Festival last Friday (13th Nov).

He mostly spoke about "They All Love Jack", but also talked about Withnail, researching a book on the atomic bomb (years ago), searing his hand this last week with a fried skate (fish) and politics. He was definitely back on the bottle a bit and all the more loose and entertaining for it.

I've been in touch with the university and they have a podcast planned with a recording of the night, will post when live.

Afterwards, half the crowd queued to ask for autographs (mostly copies of Jack and Withnail). Bruce kindly signed my copy of the screenplay and my bottle of Margaux '53. He was awestruck with the bottle: "Where the fuck did you get this?" and then preceded to pretend to guzzle wine from it with "I wish it was full..." :D

It was genuinely the highlight of my entire year.

That is SO COOL! WOOOOT!
... followed by yet another anecdote about his sensitive crimes in a punt with a chap called Norman, who had red hair and a book of poetry stained with the butter drips from crumpets.

He's just such a Gent.

Packed room was in silent awe, with bouts of laughter and applause.
