Correct, chris did a little bit of damage to overall hemline on withys coat, but at least it was being used and enjoyed openly and not locked away in some hollywood actors bank vault, just like Crow Crag has been enjoyed openly for the last twenty years, yes it is delapidated yes it is uninhabitable but it still brings as much pleasure to withnailites now as it did all those years ago, so here we all are concerned for that very fact of what is to be.
Who knows maybe Chris will do the right thing or maybe he will attach a giant wrecking ball to the handlebars of his scooter and raise the place to the ground, or maybe a butterfly will land on my nose and change everybody lives forever.

Time to raise the cash

Pledges are great and democracy is rosy, but we're going to need some serious hard cash to compete with Ms Moss.

Donations needed now to get the ball rolling, but proper investments needed for a real return - 1000 delgihtful weekends in the country.

Indeed. That said, who is going to give you cash on just a promise? Certainly not me.

aw go on, please!

I think you have put your finger on the exact problem that the collective is struggling to address, by fudging it.

It comes down to the same problem though on Auction day.

Either the collective is going to have to write out a fat check based on the promises of 1000's of people,

or 1000's of people are going to have to gamble the first tenner by trusting one person - me!

I'm a very trustworthy fellow, and as soon as I can get some friends to verify that fact I'll let you know!

Meantime we are all up against moneybags moss and her cunning schemes to carve up the cumbrian countryside and shoot all the fish

Now then , how about we move this conversation over to my forum - is it OK if I register you as a member and copy this conversation over there to get the ball rolling?

I'd rather you stopped promoting your forum on our forum. I'll let you have a link to it in your profile and in one thread but that's it.

Thanks Old Chap. :wine: Chin Chin

Anyway I am beinginning to fear I may never play the Dane; indeed I have of late, but wherefore I know not, lost almost all my belief ... but there's still 13 days to go.

It would b great if some of you guys would register with us just for the next coupe of eweeks, to get the numbers up and encourage the wider community to commit a few quid - I really believe we can do this.

I think if we're going to have any chance we should all commit to just one consortium. If there's 2 then the money raised is going to be halved, unless they join forces at the auction.

Anyway I've decided to look on the bright side. If we lose crow crag we'll still be able to visit all the other locations-phonebox, shooting bridge, bull gate etc. And hopefully we'll be able to go near Crow Crag and have a good look from a distance, even if we can no longer go inside, or write quotes on the door, or sign the guestbook, or dig for potatoes, or....WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGHHHH!!!!!! WHY? FOR THE LOVE OF GOD WHY? DAMN YOU UNITED UTILITIES! DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Right lads!
Pack your bags
And come aboard as we hoist the Black Flag...

Saw VIgofthedump on BBC this morning.....

Wonder how it will go today - the guy from Savilles did a great job of putting anyone off buying the place

Went on about how it was in bad disrepair and would be a bottomless pit where finances where concerned for anyone who bought it! Think he's on our side
