Withnail's Coat

PostPosted by The Seagull » Sat Dec 09, 2006 1:29 am

I have just sent an email to the designer of Withnail's coat (www.andreagaler.co.uk) to find out more details about obtaining one.

Will keep you posted as and when I receive a reply.
I shall miss you too. Chin-chin.

I wonder what would have happened to the coat and other items if REG hadn't done the Withnail For Waterford auction,.??
I know that the Crow Crag Farm sign (not seen in the film) was holding Bruces chicken shed door open,.. lol

I believe he was actually Celtic himself,.. but also black,..... and female ,... no need to go down the list any longer, because we all know that we end up with the final answer of 'Bull-shit'

Finally had a reply back to my email from the designer herself.

The coats are all hand-made to order and cost 895 quid each!

Somehow, don't think I will be ordering one now....!

BAAAAAAASTARDS!!!

I would buy one off Jeffs mom,... but I know that it would look really crap on me,...
Now I don't want to put Jeffs Mom out of a few quid,.. but ,.. Who here, really thinks that one of those coats would actaully suit them,.??,..
I'm trying to imagine the W&I friends I have met so far ,. and my other friends, and I cannot imagine that it looks good on anyone of them,..
It was espeacially made-to-measure for REG,. that type of coat just suits him,.. I need to put an equation here to explain

Height + rakishness + posture + of unknown age,..

Half dead he may be,.. but,

coat

i wasnt really touting for buisness for her, she's pretty busy anyway. my daughter wants one making, so my mother is going to knock her one up when she's seen the film. she has the uncanny ability, like all really good tailors, to be able to see in 3 dimensions, she will look at the film or a photo, then measure the person who the outfit is for, and be able to cut the cloth to make an exact replica from her memmory. over the years she has made hundreds and hundreds of suits and wedding dresses, and ive never sen her use a patern yet. when she gets it made, i might post some pics.

I always thought I would suit such a coat..... apart from the fact that I'm not thin..... have quite a belly now...... and don't have too much hair these days...... and sort of looked a bit like REG when I was younger...... ok.... parkin..... you may have a point!

Would love to see the pics and would be genuinely interested in having my own coat made. Can you bear me in mind?

Thanks.
