Liberal Democrat quotes Uncle Monty!
They found him wandering round Regent's Park with a cheap bottle of sherry...

And like a fool I mixed them and it strangled up my mind, and now people just get uglier and I have no sense of time...

It's a shame, two years ago I could have bought the fucker for cash, alas I invested it all in a little project called openpandora.

If it's still up for grabs in 6 months I'll buy it for us all!

No it was a new article with pictures and one of the Harrisons waffling on about driving the tractor during filming. Is not on the website as yet. Deffo sold though so it said, new buyer not Seb.

Have I got this right?

If it doesnt sell it will eventually fall down.
If it does sell it can only be used for a private dwelling.

So either way, eventually we will lose it.

Excellent and informative responses chaps.

perhaps I should have added; so there is absolutely no chance of anyone doing a 'Hindley' and saving Crow Crag for the fans?

But then again; perhaps I shouldnt have bothered.

no, in short. absolutely no chance at all of sleddale being turned into a withnail and i themed tourist attraction. the restrictions in the lease from the sale are very very tight. as it stands, the new owner will even have to apply for planning permission to just live in it as a domestic dwelling. the access is incredibly poor, and any attempts to turn it into a buisness will fall at the hurdle of the access and neighbours objections. seb hindley was (and is) a dreamer. the place will never ever make any money. it wont get planning permission, possibly it might get p/p to be a b+b, but thats the limit. lease restricts the use of the building and land in minute details. unpicking them in court would cost a telephone number price and almost certainly fail. they cant do anything other than live in it. no hotel, no theme park, no visitor centree, no cafe, no themed returned to original weekenders retreat. nothing. add to that the small fact that whatever price it goes for, it needs i recon at least 200k spending on it to just make it safe for habitation. so, stop dreaming, and go see it whilst you can. cos sure as eggs is eggs, its going to go the way of parkins farmhouse, and none of us will be welcome there.
